As we all headed to Dylan's farm, that was the looming question, we had no clue that it would haunt us for 22 months and forever change our lives. His cell phone was going straight to voicemail and panic set in.

Day one of the search Dylan's boots are found with what appears to be blood on them but no sign of Dylan. Dylan's last phone ping was obtained and tells us he was definitely in the area.

While we continued to desperately search for weeks, a SAR member that was working meticulously on the RTT data pulled from Dylan's Ticktok and Accuweather. This is where you can start to see how important it is we educate LE in this. BECSO had no clue how to do this, it was a volunteer. This picture is from Dylan's accuweather app he was looking at that morning.

Remember at this point we still do not have Dylan's phone, this is all coming from data. The map of the phone's events that day is generated in a matter of detail that is hard to believe. How fast the phone was traveling, the direction and much more was discovered all from the data. This took a lot of work and time dedicated by the SAR agent. This can be done same day by BadgeApps which saves crucial time. Which is why we are trying to get the education and training as wide spread as possible.

From this precise data mapping Dylan's phone is recovered from the Lucin Pond 21 days after his disappearance. The phone was left in water to keep it from corroding and sent to multiple sources until it finally landed in a lab that could restore it.

Months after Dylan went missing through forensic cellular data Dylan's phone is recovered leading to a video from Dylan's phone that ultimately led to a confession, conviction and the recovery of Dylan. Without this amazing technology this case very likely would not have been solved.

Not only is the training invaluable, Aaron has also developed a free software for LE Agents that saves critical time in investigations.
Without the forensic phone data Brenner more than likely would have never been convicted.
One person in Box Elder knew how to do this, not a deputy or detective, but a SAR volunteer who had educated himself in this forensics.
